My Last Quest English Blog

Young, naive and full of hope,
I couldn't seem to dare
To accept the sad, true truth;
Our world’s full of despair.
Always driven by our fear
We can’t seem to maintain
The justice that we think we’ve found
Instead, we just cause pain.
We burrow deep inside ourselves
Too scared to face the light
It’s easier to just retreat
Than it is to do what’s right.
We push our problems so far down
That we never take a turn
To talk about what’s going on
And so we slowly burn.
Yet worse; we turn against ourselves
We keep our fires ignited
When will we ever understand?
We stand stronger united.
Always on the brink of destruction
We just all carry different baggage
We’ve created “civilization”
To put a mask over the savage.
We don't try to change our nature
We just suppress and call it change
And the ones that call us out
Are the ones we call insane.
The people who stand up, stand out
Are considered out of place
But even when different is right
We claim it’s a disgrace.
In this messed up, desperate world
It’s hard to do what’s right
It’s easier to stay ignorant
But we need to see the light.

It's hard to let go of what we believe
In order to truly know
But sometimes to fully grasp the truth
You first have to get go.
